Select Difficulty Before Submit — Take Your Time to Choose
Ever clicked a difficulty button too quickly during a review? We've all been there. That's why Mem-App now introduces Select Difficulty Before Submit — an optional setting that gives you more control over your review flow.
🌟 What's New
When you enable this feature in your device settings, the review flow changes:

First click: Select your difficulty (Easy, Good, Hard, or Forgot)
- The selected button highlights with a checkmark
- Other buttons dim slightly to show they're not selected
- You can change your mind by clicking a different button

Second click: Confirm by clicking the same button again
- Your choice is submitted
- The word advances to the next one
This two-step process gives you a moment to think before committing to your answer — perfect for those times when you need to pause and reflect on how well you really remembered a word.
💡 Why It Matters
This feature is all about user control and flexibility:
- Prevent accidental clicks — No more submitting the wrong difficulty by mistake
- Take your time — Select first, think, then confirm when ready
- Change your mind — Switch between options before submitting
- Device-specific — Enable it on devices where you want more deliberate reviews, keep it off on others
Since this is a device-level setting, it won't sync across your devices. You can have it enabled on your phone for careful reviews, but keep the instant-submit flow on your laptop for speed.
🚀 How to Try It
- Go to Settings in Mem-App
- Scroll to Device Settings
- Toggle on "Select difficulty before submit"
- Click Submit to save
- Start a review session and try the new flow!
To go back to the original one-click submit, just toggle the setting off.
